Activities The Plovdiv Regional Development Agency with the Business Support Centre for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises is a non-profit organisation that was established in 1996. Its founders and members include the municipalities of Plovdiv, Plovdiv Industrial Association, Plovdiv Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the University of Food Technologies. Its main objectives are regional development and the strengthening of civil society, science and technology; support to social integration and personal development; and environmental protection in the context of sustainable development in the region via the development and implementation of regional infrastructure projects.

The agency supports its members and partners (municipalities, district governor and administration) in the exchange of experience with organisations in other EU member states, the transfer of good practices and the implementation of development activities in various sectors. It participates in the elaboration of operational and management plans and strategies for the development of the district and its municipalities. Agency staff are members of all municipal and district committees, councils and commissions engaged in regional development, social integration and cooperation.
