Activities Fingal County, which lies on the eastern Irish seaboard, has seen rapid urban growth over the last 20 years. Fingal County Council is a leader in Ireland in terms of the development of green infrastructure policy and implementation at local level and has recently integrated the approach into its land-use development plan. The council recognises that the creation of connected and multifunctional green infrastructure will yield economic and social benefits, as well as environmental benefits. In addition, it recognises that green infrastructure is a vital component in building resilient communities capable of adapting to the consequences of climate change.
